    Where love happens

Lots of people have asked many questions about the twins.  I will tell as much as we know at this point.

Due Date- March 17th, but with twins you can come at 36 weeks (Feb. 17th)

    They are fraternal-not identical

I have a twin brother and sister, so it runs in the family.  However the term “it skips a generation” is NOT TRUE!!!!

I am 12 weeks, and began showing at 10 weeks…. For those who have been pregnant I am at that stage where I look  like I have either gained weight or I am pregnant-not a fun stage.

Ethan  will almost be 4 (June)  when they come, and Jackson will be 2 and a half.

The boys understand we are having two babies and they are in mommies tummy.  Jackson enjoys looking and attempting to open my belly button to tell the babies “come out and play.”   Ethan wants two sisters, and that is final!  My favorite and most precious moment we have had so far is when Ethan asked me “Who put the babies in your tummy?”  “Heavenly Father did.”  “Mom, next time I see Heavenly Father I am going to tell him thank you.”

    Utah County Fair

I love going to county fairs.  Much better then the State fair, that costs 10 to get in and 5 for any parking spot.  This was FREE!  We got discount tickets for rides at Macey’s!!  Which was a great deal.  40 tickets=$18.00, at the fair they were 20 tickets for $17.00.  We looked at animals first, Ethan said hello to EVERY chicken!  Took a walk  around the booths and then off to the rides!  First came the cars, Ethan and Jackson both did a good job.  Jackson wanted to stand up several times but quickly complied when told to sit down.  Next was the ferris wheel.  Stoney had Ethan and I took Jackson.  Ethan did well, and I think Jackson is now scarred from any ride.  He didn’t want to do any rides after it.  I feel bad, but he will forget by next year.  Ethan had a blast on boats, mortorcyles  and the giant slide.  Jackson did do the slide with me.  It was a fun family outing.  At the end we got HUGE, YUMMY sno cones!  Pictures will be soon, just don’t feel like uploading tonight.

Tomorrow a whole new schedule begins for the Beckstead family.  I return to work.  I am excited but also know I will miss the boys, Stoney and from this point on- housework will never be completely finished.  Posts in this blog will probably decrease as well.  Good luck to all returning to school and yea for the 2009-2010 (WOW!) school year.

    POTTY TRAINING

We have been potty training Ethan since June.  We had our share of not great moments in the beginning.  But, now I think I can proudly say we did it!  Of course he will have an accident every once in a while, I feel that is to be expected.  This last week as has been insisting on doing it by himself; he goes to bathroom by himself, shuts the door, does his thing, and when he needs wiped he will call someone:).   Which is fine with me.  On our trip to Idaho last week he rocked!!  Not a single accident in the car and he told us every time he had to go.  I just want to say how grateful I am for this and His patience with me.  I am also grateful for the friends, and the helpful advice they  gave so we could get through this.  GO ETHAN.

    Jackson, your turn?

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go up to Featherville, Idaho for a much needed family reunion.  It was so wonderful to see relatives from my mom’s side of the family.  There were some I haven’t seen in probably close to 20 years!!!

My cousin Stephanie was able to get us her sister-in-laws cabin.  So for us cost was getting there (it was 14 hour round trip drive:0).  And thanks to many wonderful family members the food was plentiful and delicious.  We definately know how to feed an army.  At times we had over 30 people at the cabin, but it was worth it.

On Saturday a few of us took tubes wnd went floating down the river.  I always enjoy those activities.  Water was a little low in some places and my cousin Kolayna and I felt the rammifications of that.  And poor Josh got caught up in a strong current and lost his glasses!  We had our share of laughs (at my brother), sunburns, and bruises.

It was a short trip but it was wonderful to get reunited again with family.  I ended up not taking so many pictures, I HAD PLENTY of AUNTS and COUSINS doing enough picture taking for all.  But here are a few of what I got.  Oh, and I have to tell you about my second cousin Stephan.  He is 12 years and was the sweetest boy to Ethan.  Ethan was his shodow.  Stephan taught him how to play fussball, hide-n-seek, and lots of other games.  He was so good with him, he would let Ethan win and never became frustrated with a three year old.  And then there was beautiful 14 year old Amanda.  She too was extremely sweet and played with Ethan and tickled him (he LOVES you if you tickle him).  Ethan was devastated when they left.  After looking at pictures of them he feels better.    On our way home we made a quick stop in Twin Falls to show the boys the Snake River.  Ethan was throwing rocks over the fence and asked if they ever hit the water!  Thanks to everyone for making this weekend possible!!
