    Draper Temple

A few weeks ago we had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Draper Temple open house.  We took the boys, Grandpa Beckstead my sister Lindsey and her little girl, and my parents.  It was so peaceful and a fun night.  It did take over three hours, but that’s ok, it was worth it.

As some of you may know my parents are not members so for us this opportunity was even greater.  My dad was looking forward to seeing the Sealing Room.  And he asked several questions while in there.  I was so happy!!  I explained, the best I could, how the sealing works and that you can see your eternal spouse forever in the mirrors… he liked that:)  It was good to have Grandpa Beckstead come along too because my dad gets along really well with him and they talked for a while too.  It was a fun family night and I hope my parents gained an understanding of why the Temple and the ordinances that take place inside are so important to Stoney, myself and our family.

    KITTY

Jami, I know you have a love for animals it’s,  this  might be hard for you to read.

We have had an unfortunate issue happen with our Kitty this last week.  A few weeks ago her tail was injured.  How it happened we are unsure.  It seemed as if was healing well, but about a week and half ago, she became cranky and her tail put off an  awful odor.  Then in a small spot the hair fell off.  We took her the the vet and were told her tail would need to be removed.  After calling several vets to find a cheaper cost of the surgery (they ranged from $300-$900!!, it amazes me how expensive it costs, that’s a whole other post!)  we arranged it for tomorrow morning.  On Saturday we were in SL all day and came home to a Kitty who’s hair had fallen off the tail and it was bothering her so badly she had bit off the tail.  I took her straight to the ER vet.  That cost another $100!  They gave me the option of doing surgery then or waiting until Monday.  We wanted to do surgery then, but that was another SEVERAL hundred dollars.  My other option was to give the Kitty up to the Vet and they would fix her and adopt her out.  Unfortunately that was the choice we had to make.  I was heart broken to tell Ethan that Kitty won’t be coming home.  “She is with her Mommy and Daddy getting better.”  Then Ethan asks if we can go to her house.  HEART BREAKING!  I am not a pet person but I think, I know, I have taken this the hardest.  And as I write and think about her I am in tears.  I just remind myself, she is no longer in pain.  We will miss you Kitty.

Do you think Ethan will appreciate this in several years?  I love it!   The joys of potty training:)
