    Where love happens

Yesterday my sisters and I had  a wonderful time being sisters.  We got to go tubing down the Provo river!!  It was something I have wanted to do for some time and finally found the perfect people to go with.  It was perfect, no kids, no husband, quality sister time.  It was a fun, laughter filled, relaxing, two hour float.

It was great for ten bucks you got free drinks, a tube, life vest, and a shuttle to the top of the river!!  My mom was a little worried (that is what moms do best) that we would get lost or drown.  She wanted us to have a guide.  But with the river being two feet deep there wan’t much danger.  It was entertaining and I am not sure how Lindsey managed but she tipped over three times, lost her shoes, and had difficulty floating.  She wouldn’t be moving in the river and so many people would pass her.  She was the last one of about 80 to get to the bottom of the river.  I don’t think Katie and I have laughed so hard, it was good entertainment… thanks Lindsey.  Other then the sunburns it was wonderful.  I highly recommend it for anyone and will definately be doing it  again next year (Crystal, you better be there!).

    Tent Time

We went up to my parents the other day and uncle “fer-fer” aka Kris was home.  The boys love Kris and I know he gets just as excited to see them.  We always see the “kid” in Kris when he is with Ethan and Jackson.  He decided to make a tent out of Grandma’s newly washed and folded sheets.  Oh, it was funny, all three of the boys were crawling around and playing in the tent.  It was great laughter for all.  I do know they wore Kris OUT.  Thanks Kris for being a great uncle and being so creative.

    Horses!!

So we had the wonderful opportunity to go see my dear friend Nikki and her horse Tonk. She rides professionally and let us come to the barn to ride too. It was a first for myself and the kids and we all loved it. When we first got there Etahn was a little hesitant but we walked around and he warmed up fast. First we saw tractors!! Oh my goodness forget the horses there’s tractors. He could sit and throw dirt on that forever.

Next were the dogs and the trampoline. Shawn, the owner of the barn, knew right off Ethan would love the dogs. The dogs were just as big as he was. Ethan laughed and laughed and could not sop running around with them, I think he wore them out. It was funny because the dogs would fetch the ball and go under the fence, and so would Ethan. He did what they did.

Jackson loved riding with Nikki. He held onto the reins and was talking and smiling the whole time. It was so precious. Ethan wasn’t a big fan, he said he wanted too but would get up to the horse and not go. That’s ok. Nikki said we will just have to come back and try again!! I think that sound like a great idea. Thank you Nikki, and Shawn we had an absolutely wonderful time.

    Birthday

Thank you to all for the birthday wishes. We had a fun day.  When Stoney came home he had gotten me some lotions from Bath and Body Works ( I love their stuff!!).  We didn’t get to do much because Stoney had school that night (from 7-11),  So I decided to take the kids to see my friend Nikki and her horses.  We had a blast that night (I’ll do a different post for all that fun).  We didn’t get home until after nine and when we pulled in Stoney was home!  What a fun surprise.  He had gotten a me a cake and a coupon for a foot massage from him!!   I was excited, this was a first.  If you can see from the picture in fine print there were “rules and regulations” so this is what I found on the back…

It was valid until 8:00 PM!  What a dork.  I was so mad and sad.  Too good to be true.  Well yesterday he came home and gave me a real coupon for a professional one hour massage and foot pedicure!!!!  He got it from a massage lady who goes into his work and does free massages, but she wasn’t there for several days so that is why he made the silly one.  I am excited to use it and am grateful to such a fun loving husband for the Very thoughtful gift.  Thank you Stoney J.

THANK HEAVENS FOR MAGIC ERASER AND MY STEAM CLEANER…  WITHOUT THEM I WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!

Around Christmas time last year Stoney and I attempted to make yummy carmel popcorn balls for our neighbors.  We failed, miserably.  We tried several recipes and with everyone the popcorn balls turned out as hard as a ROCK.  It was disappointing.  Our search has finally paid off.  Stoney got a recipe from someone at work and it was DELICIOUSLY gooey, soft, carmely popcorn.  I had to share this recipe for everyone out there.   ENJOY!!  Just to note we halved the recipe and it still was yummy and made a ton.

    Caramel Popcorn

1 pound box of brown sugar (about 2 1/2 cups)
1 cup of light Karo corn syrup

cook over medium heat until comes to a boil, then boil 3 more minutes.

    Add:

1 can of Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk, then add
    1 cup real butter.

stir until butter is completely blended in.

Pour over 2 large bowls of popped popcorn. Stir to coat evenly.
