    Where love happens

Ethan started his first swimming lesson today!! We signed up for a parent/tot class at Provo High. It was a lot of fun, especially since I got to participate…hehe. We worked on blowing bubbles, kicking (Ethan is like a pro), and floating (with assistance). He did a really good job at everything, however he gets a little frightened being on his back. The cute little high school lifeguard does a really good job, she had fun songs and games for us to play. The objective of the class is to familiarize the child with the water and have FUN. And I think Ethan had a Blast.

Thanks to our dear friend Angie for watching Jackson so we could do this and have special Ethan and Mom time!!!

Ethan and I were playing in our backyard and I saw the most ugly looking butterfly or moth or something.  I had to take pictures of it, although I was scared it was going to attack.  I really hope I never come across something like this again.

When we were at my parents yesterday Jackson took off for the stairs and climbed right up!! I was a little shocked. We have stairs here at our home, and he hasn’t figured those out…yet. So now I need to really be on my toes. He is growing up too fast.

I am happy to announce Lindsey (my sister) just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Madison Michelle; on June 18. My sisters and I decided it would be fun to get pictures of all the grandkids… the thought was fun, but the activity of getting four little ones to hold still was well, entertaining. How in the world do the professionals do it? There was twice as many adults as kids and we still had issues. I think my boys were the most mobile, Ethan being two and having no desire to do what we ask and Jackson just wanting to crawl away or take binkis from the girls. Katie’s (my other sister) little girl Mekailey is six months old and was the best behaved. She has just learned to sit up so moving wasn’t an option.

Here are a few of, well, the best of MANY. If anyone has tips on how to get children to sit for picture taking, PLEASE let me know.

Here are pictures of cousin Ian and Ethan playing catch. Ian is just seven months younger then Ethan and when they are together they can have a lot of fun.

Ethan is now two years old!! Yea buddy!! (and yea for mom and dad who thought this moment would take FOREVER and for surviving the first two years:). We had a blast with his birthday party. I let Ethan choose his theme of basketballs, which was ironic because we decided long ago to get him a basketball hoop and I made him a Jazz blanket.

Thank you to all for his gifts. Ethan is very blessed to have such wonderful family members. He absolutely loves everything!! He has had many, many ice pops from Uncle Jim, Aunt Crystal and Ian. He is getting really good at the Tad puzzle from Grandma and Grandpa Murphy. The Cars chairs from Aunt Katie are just the right size and the race track from Uncle Fer-fer is a blast (I think Stoney is loving it more). He is going to be a professional baseball player with the mitt and baseball bat he received from Aunt Lindsey and Grandpa Beckstead. I know there are many more gifts that I have not mentioned but thank you, thank you so much.

Happy Birthday Ethan!! We love you so much and are so proud of all you have done in the short two years of your life. Thank you for all the happiness and laughter you bring to us.

All the slobber and drooling has finally paid off!! They are finally here. Jackson got his first tooth in two weeks ago!! And then last week his second tooth came through.

Other news about Jackson… We took him to the dr on Wednesday to get his weight checked and another vaccination. At his six month check up the dr was concerned that he only gained eight ounces in two months. In six weeks he gained three ounces. He now weighs in at 15.2 lbs. He is sooo little. He is in the second percentile. The dr wanted more of a weight gain but was satisfied with the three ounces, he said that Jackson’s weight will hopefully pick up in the next few weeks. I am not used to having a small baby. Ethan is the complete opposite. He was 17 lbs at four months. What a comparison. The important thing to remember is he is healthy and right on track with everything else!!!
